Charlie Henley

Charles Henley is a Director of Blackwell Short and advises business owners, property owners and individuals on commercial disputes, business transactions and complex legal matters.

Charles understands that when clients seek legal advice, they are often facing an issue that is affecting their livelihood, finances or future plans. Whether resolving a business dispute, recovering a debt, defending a construction claim or navigating a contested estate, his focus is on delivering a solutions-based approach and achieving the best possible outcome.

After completing his law and commerce degrees at Bond University, Charles began his career with one of Australia's largest insurance litigation firms in Sydney. During this time, he developed extensive experience in litigation and court procedure, regularly appearing in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of New South Wales.

Since relocating to Orange in 2019 and joining Blackwell Short in 2021, Charles has expanded his practice to include Commercial Litigation, Debt Recovery, Building and Construction Disputes, contested Estates, Business transactions, Conveyancing and Leasing matters. His broad experience allows him to provide strategic advice that considers both the legal and commercial realities faced by his clients.

In 2022, Charles was appointed as a Public Notary, making him one of only a small number of practising notaries in the Central West. Clients value his ability to assist across a diverse range of legal matters while providing clear advice and responsive service.

As both a lawyer and business leader, Charles understands the challenges faced by business owners and investors. He takes a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and works closely with clients to protect their interests while helping them achieve their objectives.

Outside the office, Charles is actively involved in the Orange community through his leadership roles with the Emus Rugby Club.
