Charlie Henley

Charles completed his legal studies at Bond University on the Gold Coast, before spending 5 years working at one of Australia’s largest Insurance Litigation firms based in Sydney. During this time he gained in depth knowledge in Commercial Litigation and Court procedure, appearing in the Local, District and Supreme Court of NSW.
After moving to Orange in 2019 Charles had a successful stint with the NSW Government before joining Blackwell Short in April 2021. Since joining Blackwell Short, Charles has expanded his litigation practice to include debt recovery, building disputes and family provision claims. In addition to this Charles has assisted with numerous commercial transactions for business and individuals as well
as conveyancing and leasing transactions.  

 

In October 2022 Charles was admitted as a Public Notary, meaning that along with John Carpenter, Blackwell Short have the only two practicing public notaries in Orange.  Charles takes pride in his ability to assist and advise on a broad range of areas that are in high demand in our regional community.

Community
Interests

Charles and his wife welcomed the arrival of their first child, in August 2021 and are expecting their second child in May 2023.

Charles has always been an avid sportsman and continues to play Rugby with the Orange Emus Rugby Club, captaining their First Grade side for multiple seasons. He has also represented the Central West and has been selected to play for NSW Country.

 

In addition to playing Rugby, he sits on the Emus Rugby Board as secretary and is also a board member of the Business Orange Chamber. Charles was also recently elected to the Committee member of Central West Law Society.
